SEO is short for search engine optimization, and it’s a way of preparing your pages for the search engines.
The search engines index the pages according to relevance of the content on the page for a particular key word or key phrase, and the process of writing according to what the search engines want, is called On Page Search Engine Optimization, which also includes HTML code, Meta tags, Navigation and the whole layout of the page.
When your satisfied with the on page optimization you can start the process of submission, which consists of submitting your website to the various directories.
If all this is done properly you can get a top positioning in the search engines.
The whole process is called SEO or Search Engine Optimization.
